Vision

Spark's vision is a world that is harmonious and compassionate. It is a world in which we cherish natural beauty and diversity. As individuals, we use our imagination and growing consciousness to create and see new possibilities. Each of us works toward our own positive vision, while loving and supporting others as they pursue theirs. Each of us has equal opportunity and access to the tools we need to reach our potential.

Spark believes that the collective result of these unique visions is a magnificent whole. Our individual talents and paths complement each other and weave the fabric of a beautiful, compassionate, and harmonious world.

Mission

Spark's mission is to help people and organisations make decisive improvements in their performance through social and environmental innovation and through their own growth of consciousness. We guide and support organisations with social and environmental mandates to become inspirational leaders through successful planning and implementation.

Values

Spark is a values-led business that incorporates concern for its community and environment - local, national, and global - into its strategic and operating plans, and into the everyday business decisions that actualise Spark's financial, social, and environmental goals. We live what we believe, both at work and at home.

At Spark, we are serious about what we do and we want all our partners to be, too. These are the five pillars that we live by and look for in our clients, strategic partners, and employees:

1. Client focus - We listen to, understand, and care for our clients.

2. Team focus - We recognise that our primary community is our internal team, and we are committed to fostering the personal and professional growth of all our team members.

3. Commitment to the community and the environment - Both as individuals and as an organisation, we are part of a larger global community and our existence depends on our natural environment. We recognise and honour these connections and interdependencies, and strive to protect and strengthen them in everything we do.

Willingness to grow personally and professionally - Through the example of the Dalai Lama and many other leaders, we see it is as much who we are being as what we are doing.  We understand that an organisation is a reflection of those that comprise it. For an organisation to grow to the next level, its team members must be willing to grow as well.

The person behind Spark?

Nancy Bradshaw Brown works as the lead behind Spark and brings in partners where expertise is needed.  She brings strong business expertise with years of experience in the social and environmental field, as well as her study of consciousness and personal growth. She cares passionately about our clients' success and we work hard to give excellent value for their money. She have chosen this field because we want to create a world where the planet is respected and people are treated well.

Nancy has experienced the joys and challenges of creating for-profit and non-profit organisations and growing them to successful levels. This practical understanding allows her to bring pragmatic knowledge to the organisations she works with. In addition to her leadership roles, she has been a team player as part of the senior management in a number of companies, including OmniLogic / PriceWaterhouse Coopers. Her experience extends across all aspects related to growing a business: from sales to board management to growing a healthy and happy team. Her most notable skill has been helping an organisation move to the next level.  Her best skill now is in going deep with clients to be clearly guided in their direction.  The benefit of this is so they move with much more efficiency at work and can then enjoy more time living their life outside of work. 

Nancy played a pioneering role as co-founder and past President of Canadian Business for Social Responsibility (CBSR). She is also a founding board member of Dress for Success Vancouver, an organisation that provides interview clothing for low-income women re-entering the workforce. Nancy has been on the Editorial board of Business in Vancouver (BIV), VanCity Foundation, and UBC's Board of Governors. Last year, Nancy received an Ethics In Action award for her role as a leader in BC's social responsibility movement. The Vancouver Sun named her as one of the top 25 new leaders and BIV named her one of the top 40 under 40 (before she turned 40). 

Nancy's credentials: B.Comm., Canadian Securities Course, numerous training courses in technology, finance, strategy, strategic selling, industry specific training. In addition, Nancy has a significant amount of training in consciousness including - Neuro Linguistic Practitioner, plus numerous spirituality, astrology, personal responsibility & growth, relationship, energy medicine and other psychology related courses.

Currently Nancy is primarily leading Joyfilled Music www.joyfilledmusic.com, doing some consulting for the 'great fit' type clients with an emphasis on transformation for the individual as well as for the organization and our planet. 

Nancy has slowed down to allow more emphasis on who she is being rather than what she is doing.  She is loving living more of her values with a simpler yet yet deeply fulfilling time as mom, spouse, friend and neighbour.  Nancy realized she had a lot to learn in how to create an exceptional home - one that is filled with love and is a wonderful environment to grow up in and it is a wonderful experiment.  All things that transfer well into any environment where transformation is desired.  Nancy if really enjoying taking this time to relish more moments.  She is no longer actively kicking ass in the corporate world, though she does get out that energy at her kickboxing class!  She is also diving into her own consciousness work and finding it great fun.
